On July 12, 2024, the Dutch Supreme Court delivered a historic decision: same-sex marriage must be permitted in Aruba. This groundbreaking ruling marked
the end of a long journey. One led by courageous couples and human rights organizations who refused to accept anything less than full equality. Until then, LGBTQ+
couples could only have their marriage recognized if they wed in the Netherlands. Local marriage was out of reach, and the emotional and legal toll was real.

But everything changed with this ruling. Aruba now proudly offers same-sex couples the same rights, recognition, and responsibilities as opposite-sex couples.
The island has become an official marriage equality destination in the Caribbean. A place where all love stories are welcomed and celebrated.
